Protein Apple Crisp

Because apple crisp is a must in the fall, but this one has a twist! Extra protein and much healthier than your average dessert.

Ingredients
  

Apples

  • 6 large apples
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

Crisp

  • 2 cups gluten free rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 3/4 cup plant based protein powder
  • 6 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp unrefined virgin coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup creamy natural almond butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • Grease a 9x9” square pan with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Peel, core, and slice the apples. Add them to a small mixing bowl.
  • Add the cinnamon and maple syrup to the apples. Mix well.
  • Pour the apple mixture into the pan and ensure an even spread.
  • Make the crisp by combining all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and combining with your hands.
  • Crumble the crisp over the apples.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until crisp has browned.
  • Serve warm.
