If you’re like, “What in the world is Gfree Fest?!?” Well, let me tell you. It’s a food festival held in Providence, RI in which every booth is completely gluten free. If you live somewhat in the area, and can’t eat gluten like me, then you need to check this out for 2027. I had an absolute blast and there were so many delicious foods! It was so nice not having to ask, “Is this gluten free?”
Every booth also had a sign that dictated whether their products were made in a completely gluten free facility, or if the facility was not gluten free but measures were taken to ensure protocols were followed to keep the food gluten free. Plus, if you’re also plant based like me, there were many booths that also offered dairy-free, plant based, or even vegan options. At no point did I feel any issue with these dietary constraints!
As for what foods were there, there was everything from baked goods to tacos to empanadas to mac and cheese! The food options were endless and everything I ate was so delicious. I brought a reusable bag with me that was full by the end of our visit with all the goodies I was taking home (because I was too full to eat anything else at the festival itself!).
Check out everything I ate and drank below!
1. Mocktails
They had a bar at the festival filled with cocktails and mocktails. I had a mocktail with passionfruit that was delicious! See a picture of said mocktail above.
2. Soft Pretzel, Maple Frosted Donut, & Cruller
All of these were from Jennifer Lee’s Bakery! Which, if you live in the Boston area and have never checked out – you need to. All of their baked goods are vegan, gluten free, and free of the nine major allergens. Plus, they’re massively delicious. The pretzel was so soft and had the perfect amount of salt and the donuts were perfectly fluffy and sweet.

3. Black Bean & Plantain Arepas
If you’ve never had an arepa before, you need to try them! They are these soft pockets of dough that are super tasty plain but can also be stuffed. I got this from the Sabrosa Venezuela booth.

4. Peanut Butter & Oreo Cupcake
I got this from the Celebrated booth which had so many delicious looking baked goods! They even had a pumpkin snickerdoodle flavor of macaron.

5. Jovial Bucatini Pasta
This is a great gluten free pasta brand if you’ve never tried it before! The texture is very similar to regular pasta and they have so many different types. At the festival, they were selling their thick bucatini pasta which I had never seen in stores before so I had to pick some up! I also grabbed a free sample of the Bionature pasta too.

6. Empanadas
I also had a black bean empanada from Empanada Assassin which was extremely delicious, but I forgot to take a photo because it was our first stop when we got in and I was starving. I housed that empanada and my taste buds loved it too! I had also wanted to buy the frozen empanadas package from Nadas but they were sold out by the time I got there to buy them – they must be super tasty!
Needless to say, if I can, I will definitely be back for GFree Fest next year! I can’t wait to go back for some plant based cheesecake, dairy free toffee, and many flavors of macarons.
