Quick and Easy Black Bean Dip Recipe

Black Bean Dip

Looking for a tasty, yet healthy snack? Looking for something quick and easy to make? This is the recipe for you! Not only is it plant based and gluten free but it’s also so simple and only takes 5 minutes to create. I know sometimes it can be easier to buy dip for a snack instead of making one, but with this only taking five minutes to create and producing a decent amount of dip, who can argue with this?

What Equipment Do I Need?

To make this black bean dip, you will need a can opener to open your cans of black beans and a blender or food processor. That’s really it! All this recipe takes is opening a few cans, dumping the ingredients in a processor, and blending until smooth. So simple and quick!

Looking for Some Spice?

If you’re someone who prefers a spicy snack over a mild snack, you can easily shift this to the spicier side. All you need to do is opt for a spicy salsa verde instead of mild. The opposite is true as well – if you aren’t a fan of spice, choose the mild salsa instead of the hot. If you want it EXTRA spicy, you can even add a little ground cayenne pepper to the dip.

Serving Suggestions

As you can see from the photos, I chose to serve this dip with tortilla chips. However, there are other options as well! You could choose gluten free crackers or any type of veggie crudités. For example, this would go very well with sliced bell peppers or baby carrots/carrot sticks. Black bean dip is the perfect easy party appetizer or meal prep to eat as a healthy snack all week long.

Ingredients

  • Canned Black Beans – If your grocery store sells them, I prefer to buy the cans with no salt added.
  • Salsa Verde – As mentioned above, buy a hot kind if you like it spicy, and mild if you aren’t a fan of spicy.
  • Minced Garlic
  • Onion Powder
  • Paprika
  • Lime Juice

Substitutions

Due to the fact that this is such a simple recipe, there isn’t much for substitutions here. You’re certainly welcome to try using a different salsa than salsa verde. Additionally, you can play around with the spices as well.
